Getting Started

It will list some fundamental information that might be useful for all courses or general links to program information. We will go through this some of this information during orientation or when needed. In general, don't follow the below links and try to do this entirely on your own.

Base Technology Requirements:

  • PC (no Mac or Chromebooks) with adequate CPU, RAM, and disk space
  • High-speed Internet
  • Webcam

You will have access to creating a website hosted through a student web server at Western which can be provisioned here.

You will also set up and work with your own database server here.

Version control, specifically working with Git and GitHub, is a fundamental skill that most individuals working as developers, or in a data analytics or engineering role would benefit from.

I do not believe in recreating the wheel and we will use various industry-aligned course curriculum from DataCamp and Microsoft Learn throughout the program.

I have also organized and compiled some resources from around the web that will be potentially useful throughout the program. This will be in addition to course-specific links.
